The seasons are changing, and so are many of the Double Up markets. From rebranding to reopening, markets across the Valley are turning over a new leaf just in time for a beautiful spring season.

They have a new name, but still offer the same great services: Fresh Express is now Farm Express! The organization rebranded to emphasize its mission to increase accessibility to Arizona grown produce. The name change also highlights the organizations dedication to educating its consumers about where their food comes from. Not only did Farm Express rebrand, but they are also launching Farm Express 2 this April. This mobile market will serve North Phoenix and Sunnyslope.

The Prescott Valley Farmers Market is shifting their market model this spring. Once the winter market closes for the season, the Prescott Valley Farmers Market will become a pop-up market. The market will ‘pop-up’ at several family-friendly places in the community, and will be open at least once a month between May and October.

Several markets will be reopening for the season in the coming months. Flagstaff Community Market will be open on Sundays starting May 6. Payson Farmers Market opens May 26. Beginning June 4, Chino Valley Farmers Market will operate on Thursday afternoons. On June 21, Sunnyside Community Market opens for the season. For the months of April and May, the Authentically Ajo Farmers Market will run every second Saturday and third Thursday. Many other markets will be changing their hours. Stay tuned to the complete and up-to-date list here.

New produce will also be rolling into the markets as the weather warms up across the state. This month, you can expect to see cucumbers, onions, peas, potatoes, summer squash and zucchini at your favorite market. In May, apricots, blackberries, peaches and nectarines will be available. Check out this site for a complete list of what is in season.

So many exciting things are kicking off this spring! Stay updated on our Facebook, Twitter, and blog for more market information all year long.
