ACTIVE LIVING & BUILT ENVIRONMENT
Pinnacle Prevention is dedicated to creating communities where opportunities for active living are plentiful and built into everyday life for all people. We understand that the way neighborhoods are planned, designed, constructed and maintained directly relates to people’s ability to walk, bike, roll, recreate, and get where they need to go.
As cities and towns across the country have shifted their approaches to how streets are designed - recognizing that streets should safely move people and not just cars - Pinnacle has been an advocate of Complete Streets policies and inclusive planning practices that engage community members in the process.
We envision communities where planners, engineers, architects, public health professionals, and local organizations work together alongside community members to envision and create thriving places where people can safely get outside and connect with one another and with nature. The result will be healthier residents and a healthier environment for this and future generations.
The Arizona Smart Growth Guidebook
Across the state, Arizonans add richness to their communities by creating spaces that keep people and the environment not only in mind, but as priorities. The Arizona Smart Growth Guidebook shares a snapshot of those stories and a glimpse of Arizona's growth historically. The case studies in this Guidebook are from all corners of the state and challenge traditional development patterns. Through the Guidebook’s six case studies, you’ll read about small businesses, urban farms, affordable housing options, walkable neighborhoods, public art, and authentic and meaningful approaches to community engagement.
