When the leaves turn brown and the weather cools down, many markets open their doors again to offer seasonal fall produce.

New fruits and veggies will be popping up at farmers markets across the state. As summer harvests fade away, delicious sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkins, radishes, green leafy lettuce, kale, Swiss chards, turnips, sweet peppers and more will fill the stands at your favorite market.

In November, you can find citrus like lemons, oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines at your local markets. You’ll also find plenty of apples at farmers markets in the fall. Double up on this seasonal delight and consider making this perfect apple pie for a festive desert.

Many markets start back up in the October, move outside, and even extend their hours since the weather is cooler. The Maryvale Farmers Market at El Oso Park returns on October 7, where customer can stock up on local offerings from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday through November. The Ahwatukee Farmers Market will be open for the fall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays. The Roadrunner Farmers Market is also open on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phoenix Public Market extends its hours till 1 p.m., so customers can double up on fresh produce and enjoy the market even more on Saturdays. Uptown Market will reopen its Wednesday morning market in October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Beginning in October, the Authentically Ajo Farmers Market will be open on Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.

Visit our Double Up Food Bucks market location guide for the most up to date information on market hours, dates and times.

If you’re a SNAP customer, look for our Double Up Food Bucks Food Navigators while you’re shopping this fall. We understand the Double Up token process can be confusing to navigate for new customers at the markets, but now there are navigators who are ready to help! They will be ready to answer any questions you have at every Double Up market in September and October.

Don’t wait to visit fall markets and stock up on fresh, seasonal produce! Check out these fall recipes, enjoy the cool weather, and support your favorite Arizona farmers market.
