What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to go out and see it for yourself? Here at Pinnacle Prevention, we believe everyone should take advantage of the beautiful places our state has to offer to feel healthy, happy, and active. Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate the Earth, and tips for keeping it clean and healthy while you’re out enjoying it!

Stop and smell the flowers while you visit your favorite trail

Hikes, parks and local trails are a perfect way to experience the environment in Arizona. If you’re looking for an adventure, one place to experience is Old Dominion Historic Mine Park in Globe, Arizona. This is one of our favorite places to host events because of the abundance of trails, history, and community. In the spirit of Earth Day, be sure to check-out any upcoming restoration or clean-up events hosted by the Pinal Creek Trail Committee, who is working to revitalize the area.

Make sure to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated while protecting the planet, and always make sure to leave trails cleaner than you found them! Arizona has so many incredible hikes and trails that you won’t have to look for long before finding one to go explore. Click here to find the perfect one for your Earth Day adventure.

Support sustainability and celebrate with a snack

If you’d like to stay closer to home, visiting a farmers market is a great way to celebrate our environment. Farmers markets are beneficial to the environment in various ways — they not only support eco-friendly, sustainable growing practices, but it also takes less gas to transport the produce from the fields to the market to your fork. That means your food is fresher, and your carbon footprint is smaller! Always make sure to bring a reusable shopping bag to cut down on plastic waste, too.

Jump for joy!

Visiting a local park is a fun way to celebrate Earth Day while also staying active with friends and family. On your park visit, use reusable water bottles instead of plastic disposable ones, and always dispose of trash and recycling in the proper bin to prevent litter. If your favorite park is in need of some TLC, consider finding or starting a clean-up effort.

While planning your Earth Day park adventure, be sure to check out any of the six inclusive parks in Arizona. To learn more about the incredible benefits of inclusive parks, and where to find them, check out this blog post.

There is no shortage of festive ways to celebrate the planet we call home this weekend, and every day! Do you have a favorite activity or tradition to commemorate this holiday? Let us know in the comments, and happy Earth Day!
