At Pinnacle Prevention, our mission is to grow healthy families and communities. Accomplishing that starts right in our own office, where we are dedicated to uplifting our working moms and their families each and every day. To celebrate Mother’s Day, we asked everyone to share their favorite moments with their Pinnacle Prevention Littles:

November marks the beginning of the season of giving. No one is too young to learn the importance of helping others. This holiday season, take your family out to assist those in need, all the while imparting habits and compassion to last a lifetime. There are family-friendly activities and organizations across Arizona for you and your loved ones to get involved with, so here are a few ideas to get you started! National Take a Hike Day is observed annually on November 17. Phoenix is home to more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserves and more than 200 miles of trails. Hiking has tons of benefits and is a great way to start to your holiday season. Whether you bring a buddy or take a solo adventure, get out there and enjoy the fresh air, cooler weather, scenery, and exercise. Be sure to dress appropriately, and bring water, sunscreen, and snacks! The holiday season is right around the corner! Few things warm our hearts more than families gathering for shared meals and creating meaningful memories over the next two months.
Sometimes the stress of the holidays can feel overwhelming, but there are plenty of ways you and your family can remain mindful of healthy habits during this holiday season. Leaves are changing, but healthy habits don’t have to! With fall weather comes many exciting opportunities for families to have fun together and stay active.
(Missed the first part of the story? Click here to read about how a dedicated group of community leaders began to develop the building blocks for the Isaac Family Resource Center.)
Following the Isaac community assessment, the Resource Center team turned directly to parents and community members to learn what kind of resources they would like to see in the center. This month, we’re exploring some of the ways schools can act as hubs of connection and promote wellness for children, families, and entire communities. When schools and communities unite, they create opportunities for everyone to thrive. One incredible example of this work in our state is the Isaac Family Resource Center – a collaboration between the Isaac School District, community members and various organizations with a shared vision of wellness and success for their neighborhood. We traditionally view health as the result of individual choices. While this can be true, there are other factors, including the resources and norms of our community that influence our choices without us always being aware. So how can we be sure the factors around us that impact our health are doing so for the better? As a leader in your community, you have the power to create healthy environments and policies where you live, work, and play. Together, we can create vibrant communities that support healthy choices and lifestyles. Pinnacle Prevention is dedicated to growing healthy families and communities, with a mission to inspire and advance a healthy food system and opportunities for active living. Our team of registered dietitians, researchers and social scientists believe all families should have access to healthy food as well as healthy and safe communities to enjoy physical activity. Check out the video below to learn more about how your environment impacts your health and the health of your family, how policies can help shape your community, and how Pinnacle Prevention works to make our visions a reality across Arizona. Getting enough exercise in the heat of the summer might seem like a chore, but there are tons of imaginative ways to get moving indoors and outdoors year-round. Get your play on and find fun ways to exercise with these weird and wacky ideas: July is National Park and Recreation Month, and that means it’s time to get your play on! The National Recreation and Park Association is encouraging everyone to stay active all month long by visiting local parks and recreation centers.
