After months of debates and negotiations surrounding the 2018 Farm Bill, a compromise has been reached, and a version of the bill was passed by Congress.
During the holidays – and throughout the year – everyone should have the kitchen appliances and utensils available to make a home-cooked meal. But many Arizonans, especially seniors, don't have access to kitchen appliances that allow them to eat nutritious meals. Pinnacle Prevention is excited to launch our latest program – Pots to Love! Our team will be collecting toaster ovens and slow cookers to donate to those community members in need.
The Farm Bill is currently in its final negotiations, and important funding for SNAP-Ed programs in Arizona and across the country is at stake. We need your help to urge Congress to maintain the Senate version of the Farm Bill to save this critical support for these programs.
In 2008, the first edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans was released. These guidelines were used to help youth and adults get the correct amount of physical activity every day. Earlier this week the guidelines were updated and released in the second edition of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. The new guidelines were expanded to include children as young as three and further promote daily activity.

Complete Streets guidelines aim to make Phoenix roadways safer for everyone to walk, bike, use public transportation, and drive. After hitting several road blocks, the Phoenix City Council finally voted to approve the proposed guidelines.

Public spaces are meant for everyone, but too often not everyone gets to utilize them. Several barriers exist between people and public space. With those barriers in place, public spaces can lack diversity, which is a critical component to making our communities as happy and healthy as possible. To expand diversity in places like parks, plazas, and sidewalks, it is critical to have more public space and increased accessibility in these spaces.
